Question: Why is StarCraft 2 so expensive?
The game has been out for some years now, and the game is still extremely high priced. I cant find a copy or a cd key for any less than $40 anywhere, which is absurd since theres an expansion pack that also costs a fair sum of money. This is riduculous, am I not looking hard enough or is Blizzard really still charging this much for one video game?

theres no expansion pack yet. and theres not release date for an expansion.
$40 isnt bad
because StarCraft 2 is an amazing game, although it is nearly 2 years old it still got a 10/10 in gameinformer, gameradar, videogamer. X-Play gave it a 5 stars. Blizzard charges alot for their best games, god i'm worried about Diablo III. Hope this helped. StarCraft 2 isn't rushed unlike every console game, so it will be around for many, many more years. That's why it's still expensive - it's getting more popular everyday. Although, it was $67 when it came out in 2010, so it has dropped in price quite a bit, but once the expansions come out it may rise in price again, so get it while you can!
Starcraft Original + BroodWar expansion should be $20 or less.
Starcraft II(2) should be $50-60 or $90-100 if you get the big chest which holds some other stuff.
Starcraft 2 has only been out for a year or two, meaning it's still new, new games always start off at like $50, and as long as people keep buying the game it will not drop in price.
You may have to wait a few more years until it drops in price.
If you think about it this way, Broodwar, the expansion for the first starcraft, is $15.
Now consider that Broodwar came out 14 YEARS ago.
14 YEARS.
Now consider this.
People still play that game. AND it is the oldest game to have patches come out for it.
The reason that Blizzard charges so much for Starcraft is because they take GREAT care of it. They only need to manage 3-4 games TOTAL, so when you buy starcraft, you are essentially buying a game that never changes and is always being improved upon.
Besides, you can either get the original for $40, which is a good deal, or you could wait for the expansion!
