I prefer that you have at least played most of the games before you give a recommendation; also I don't need told what I should get and how little amount of really good games are on there. I just want to know which game I should start with since I want to play games and haven't done so for a while.

The assassins creed series has an epic storyline running through all the games. Well worth a go.
Also the elder scroll series particularly Oblivion. Truly epic games.
The Elder Scrolls is like my favorite game series, so id say Oblivion. Or Skyrim which is the newest 1
Grandia II is the only corret answer. Then move on the FF series and kingdom hearts. Make sure you hit up Dark Cloud and LoZ. Most the games on this list I would never touch because they don't have enough draw for me to break away from my life to give them the chance when I have other games, anime, college, work, friends and a GF im trying to juggle.
I advise you to start with Mario kart. This is because its a fun game you can play with friends and on your won. Also if you get the wheel for it it makes it more fun. It will keep you playing for ages.
