Question: Playstation Vita VS Nintendo 3DS?

Hey guys im thinking of getting a new handheld gaming system. I currently own a Wii, PS3, Insane gaming computer, PSP 3000, iPod, Gameboy Advance SP (soooo old lol) and i am debating between the 3DS and the Vita. The Vita clearly has the edge for browser, camera, etc. but after owning a psp i must say i absolutely hate the design. Does not fit in pockets, scratches, awkwardly shaped, etc. So what are the advantages to each one? If the Vita cannot play PSP games it is for sure out of the question.

- I liked the original DS, and the scribble chat. Do they still have it?

- Does the 3ds play gameboy games like the original DS?

Honestly i am leaning towards the DS, i am for sure not needing hard core games as i play fallout, crysis, battlefield etc on my pc, just for fun games for plane rides, car rides, going places etc. i will take it with me ALOT so it should be kinda light and small. My cousin has a 3ds and i love it, Its really fun.

The reason i dislike the vita is because the psp style is annoying to me. Its too big, and scratches. The PSP left a bad impression on me because it had only **** games that were boring or too complicated to even get past the first few levels. Does the vita have more fun games now? And which one has more games to choose from at a cheaper price?

Also the 3DS is 100 cheaper. What do you guys think? I just want the one that is the most easy to use, comfortable, and has better games that can be stored easily.

PS- whoever answers the most of my questions gets 5 stars and 10 points.

Answer:

I'll just give you some tips.

The Vita browser, while better than the 3DS', is still awful. Just as bad as the PSP browser.
The Vita cannot play PSP games unless they are digital (aka, it can't play UMD games, it has no UMD Drive).
The 3DS cannot play Gameboy games. it can only play DS and 3DS games. Any Gameboy games and so forth will be on the eShop via Virtual Console for purchase and download.
The Vita is roughly the size of the PSP. The analog sticks make it impossible to fit in pockets.
The Vita's games are nice, but no real stellar titles besides Uncharted.
The Vita's games are more expensive.
The Vita's graphics are much better
The 3DS is good for casual gaming.

Just get a 3DS. If you ever want to get the Vita, wait a year.

The Nintendo 3DS has SwapNote, which is the successor to PictoChat. SwapNote was made more of a mailing system than chatting, so adding people on your friend's list will let you send notes and pictures to them.
The Nintendo 3DS only plays GBA games if you download them from the Nintendo eShop. I have 10 downloaded GBA games from the Ambassador programs.
I think the PS Vita is a little bigger than the PSP 3000.
The PS Vita games look like the PSP games except a little better, and some look like PS games.
The Nintendo 3DS games are usually 30-40$ depending on where you live. PS Vita is like 50$ for the good ones or something.

Pick the Nintendo 3DS. It's really easy to use, you can fit into your pocket, it has pretty nice and relaxing games like: Mario Kart 7, Animal Crossing, etc.

Definately 3DS, game developers are abandoning the Vita because no one is buying it, so if you want a better game selection, get the 3DS! Plus the 3DS has the same speed browser as the vita and the same camera, same AR tech and a lot of the same video stuff like netflix and hulu plus. Vita can download psp games but they are expensive to redownload and not all of the good games are there. Some gameboy games can be downloaded from the 3DS eshop but there is no slot for them sadly. But here is normal DS backwards compatability. Oh yeah they have the EXACT same camera. But the 3DS is in 3D and you can edit the photos. Hope this helps!
